MaxxBrass Hall of Fame: Demondrae Thurman

Professor Demondrae Thurman was the motivator for the creation of MaxxBrass and has coached the group since its inception, also soloing on euphonium and trombone from time to time. For a musical biography discussing his current projects, see his page at the University of Alabama Music Department.

In addition to being a top world-level instrumentalist, Demondrae is a wonderful coach and motivator, and provided invaluable instruction to the group's tubist Don Nolte when he returned to the instrument after a 30 year break.

Demondrae and his lovely wife Jenny Gregoire (a concert violinist) reside at Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Demondrae tours with the Sotto Voce Tuba Quartet and the all-professional Brass Band of Battle Creek and performs as featured soloist with the Atlanta Symphony, the Memphis Wind Ensemble, the Alabama Wind Ensemble, and numerous other groups.

Demondrae's assistance to MaxxBrass is treasured by us all.
